Planning a Destination Wedding: Where to Start

My fiancé and I got engaged November 2019 in Seville, Spain. Traveling is something we both love and enjoy. We knew from the beginning that we wanted to do something different and still be able to include our family and friends. After doing some research we became more and more open to the idea of a destination wedding. We loved the idea of having a 4-day wedding celebration somewhere tropical!

The one thing we both agreed on was that we wanted an all-inclusive resort. This would make it more convenient and cost effective. I started looking online and on social media for ideas. I found a bunch of Cabo based planners on Instagram and went full stalker mode. I checked tagged pictures and the GeoTag of the resorts we liked. This was so helpful as I got to see what past brides were doing and what weddings looked like at the resorts. We narrowed it down to 2 resorts and reached out to the event coordinators for details. They were both quick to respond and very informative! We already had plans to visit Cabo early this year and set up visits to see the resorts in person before making a final decision.

It was super important to see the venues in person before deciding. Pictures are great but not the same as seeing it for yourself! The second we landed in Cabo, we were in love. The hospitality of the people, we always felt safe and the views were unforgettable. Our first visit was to Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach, it’s less than 10 minutes from downtown and sits on the side of a mountain with unbelievable views of the Pacific Ocean. We knew right away this was a perfect fit for us and we were ready to choose a date! We are officially getting married May 14, 2022 and can’t wait to continue the planning process!!
